In 1916, Carver published a research bulletin, “How to Grow the Peanut and 105 Ways of Preparing it For Human Consumption.” This bulletin includes several interesting ways to use peanuts like shampoo, mayonnaise, paints, and coffee.

The Executive Board is made up of 6 commissioners from different areas of the Oklahoma Peanut growing region.  They are a grower elected board and serve terms of 3 years. Commissioners may be re-elected after serving a term.

 


The official Vision is that the Oklahoma Peanut Commission will be an effective leader and voice in furthering the Oklahoma peanut industry and improving its profitability through education, research, promotion, and market development.

The OPC mission is to enhance the viability of the Oklahoma peanut industry th​rough promotion, education, and research efforts.  The commission engages in various promotional activities to encourage the production and sale of peanuts and peanut products.  The Commission supports research to develop better production methods and new uses for peanuts.
